The wall of Geraardsbergen is an icon in the sport of cycling, but  Michael Vanthourenhout had clearly no fear in the first Pro Cyclocross this season. In the early rounds was  this young talent always on the forefront. Under the impuls of him and Laurens Sweeck they could isolate  from the  off the bunch. Three of of the same team: Michael, Klaas Vantornout and Kevin Pauwels.
With these riders we could expect an impressive final offensive of Michael that contributed to some hectometers of the stripe-not preventing world champion Wout Van Aert winning the race. But with places 2, 3 and 4 we could also be satisfied. After a smashing entrance  Michael still narrowly crossed the line second. Klaas surprised everybody with his third place, his first podium place at times, while Kevin took the fourth place after a tough game.
