MARIANNE VOS TOOK THE VICTORY OF THE THIRD WORLD CUP CROSS OF THE SEASON WITH A SHOW OF POWER. IN THE SWISS CITY OF BERN, SHE TOOK DISTANCE FROM HER COMPATRIOT ANNEMARIE WORST, WHO ONCE AGAIN HAD A STRONG PERFORMANCE, IN THE FINAL LAP.
Marianne started very well on the fast, technical course in Switzerland and quickly built a lead. Annemarie Worst was the only one who could make the connection. “She quickly closed the gap and made a strong impression again. I knew I had to bring my A-game to shake her which fortunately succeeded in the final lap.”
Inge van der Heijden also started in the Swiss World Cup race. She did not have the result she had hoped for (27th). “I unfortunately had an off-day. I had acidification in my legs early on. Hopefully, I will have the good feeling back again soon.”
